The fast food has become a part of our modern life and it makes no sense to deny it. All the truthful surveys of the scientists that state that fast food is very dangerous and shortens our life do not stay in our memory for a long time. Everything has become very fast: the rhythm, the pace, the relationships, the thoughts and finally, the food. And if the results of such a nutrition do not appear that fast, we just refuse to believe or just to remember them. It is easy and comfortable to have some snack on you way somewhere and it does not take much time. That is why we still go to such places as McDonald’s.
About the company. McDonald’s is the largest chain of fast food restaurants in the world that was founded by siblings Dick and Mac McDonald in 1940 in San Bernardino, California. Brothers McDonald introduced this “Speedee Service System” that is the basis of all fast food industry nowadays. The company is headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. There are thousands of locations inside the US and twenty thousands more across the world. The slogan of McDonald’s is: “I’m lovin’ it”. McDonald’s specializes in selling different burgers, French fries, breakfast items, beverages, desserts. McDonald’s signature is BigMac burger. There is a McDonald’s restaurant in every developed country and it is a symbol of the expansion of the American culture all over the world.
McDonald’s problems. McDonald’s specializes in fast food sandwiches. These restaurants offers a diverse line of sandwiches. McDonald’s fast food restaurant chain is actually the leading sandwich shop chain in the country. And besides, the company operates a number of fast food restaurants in many other countries all over the world such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, Japan, Panama, Puerto Rico and many many other. McDonald’s is considered to be the fastest growing franchise in the whole world and the second leading fast food restaurants chain after Yum! Brands. However, just recently the company has been aggressively advertised as a health conscious fast food chain that provides different products that do not contain that much dangerous elements and damage our organisms. That is why so many people refuse to go to the fast food restaurants of the chain and choose to go to some other places. The era of food that can be prepared quickly and easily and is sold in restaurants and snack bars as a quick meal or to be taken out is ending.

Some customers were really angry because the service was poor. They say that the waiters were very slow and they seemed to be careless about he customers, their work and their tips. And it is very annoying when you want to spend a splendid evening and then some crazy waiter or waitress intends to spoil it. The customers state that Romano’s Macaroni Grill restaurants have to take care and to make some rules about the behavior of the waiters. In addition, they have to do something to make the service in busy hours a bit faster. It is no good, when the customers are kept waiting for a really long time because there are a lot of other customers.

It is widely known that coffee is drink of gods. Many of us cannot live a day without drinking some cups of coffee. Coffee makes people energetic, enthusiastic and happy. And all those talks about the coffee making our lives shorter are complete lie. There have even been an experiment somehow fulfilled on two prisoners serving a life sentence in Singapore. They have the similar state of health and one of them was always drinking coffee and the other – tea. They first one should have die earlier according to the concept but both convicts died on the same day. In the age of 89 and 83. Viva el cafe! Gevalia Coffee is one of the companies providing this gods’ drink.
About Gevalia. Gevalia Coffee is a wholly owned part of Kraft Foods. It is the largest coffee roastery in Scandinavia. The company has started to sell its coffee in the United States in 1983. Gevalia started to market its coffee using well-known marketing tricks of presenting free coffee related products. The company started a large marketing campaign to win the American consumer market and succeeded. Gevalia Coffee is an expensive premium coffee. The company even holds a Royal Warrant for coffee. The company offers more than 40 different sorts of coffee and tea. The company sells coffee roasted differently and blended differently.
Gevalia complaints. Though there is the Royal Warrant form the King of Sweden, some consumers complain. First of all, there have been hundreds of complaints filed against the spam advertising sent by Kraft Foods. Even the lawsuit was filed. Then, people complain because they are sometimes charged for nothing by Gevalia Coffee. People started to call the company’s customer service and were made aware that they were charged for the shipping of some new sample products because they were the members. Thus, the company charges its customers every month around $30. And it appears to be very difficult to settle down the issue and even to cancel the account.

Next time you take a bite of a juicy red apple, stop and think. Did you grow it in your own garden? If it`s so, you are lucky. Did you buy it at the nearest supermarket? The chances are that soon, that apple could be a genetically modified apple. Many products on the shelves of our supermarkets already contain genetically engineered ingredients and many more are ready to be introduced over the next few years.
What is genetic modification? Scientists have been playing around with the genetic structure of foods such as fruit and vegetables, soya and corn. They wanted to create nicer-looking, longer-lasting and more nutritional foods. Genetically modified food is created by taking DNA from one organism and putting it into another. Nowadays people feel that there has not been enough research done into this genetic change and that our entire food chain could be in danger. The most unpleasant fact is that once released into environment genetic mistakes cannot be cleaned up, but will be passed on to all future generations.
Consumers should not be guinea pigs for untested food substances. 70 per cent of consumers both in Europe and the USA don`t want to buy and eat genetically modified food. Many people want labeling of any food of this sort. The matter is that our natural crops are being crossed with bacteria, viruses and genes from fish and animals to make them bigger, stronger and better. Potatoes have been engineered with chicken genes to increase resistance to disease and tomatoes have had fish genes added to make them less delicate in the cold temperature of fridges. If you want to avoid genetically modified foods, eat organic foods and cut down on processed foods. You can also check with individual companies, who may supply you with a list of their products which contain genetically modified ingredients. It`s up to you to decide. It`s your choice and your health.
